Old Town San Diego State Historic Park

Old Town San Diego State Historic Park is looking to hire part-time, seasonal museum staff and tour guides with an interest in Southern California History. Successful applicants will possess excellent communication skills, an aptitude for museum interpretation, and a proficiency for leading educational tours in the park with schoolchildren and adults.

The park offers daily, guided tours to the public, as well as mid-week school programs which cater to the state-wide, 4th grade history curriculum which educates children about California history. They also maintain and staff historical museums which are open to the public, daily.

Ombudsman Volunteer Orientation
January 23, 2019

Ombudsman volunteers advocate to improve the quality of life for seniors who are residents of nursing homes and residential care facilities throughout San Diego County. This program is managed by Aging & Independence Services.

There is an orientation for new volunteers on January 23, 2019 from 4:00 – 6:30pm in Training Room 172 at the County Operations Center

Operation Bigs seeking Volunteers

Big Brothers Big Sisters of San Diego (BBBS) has a special program called Operation Bigs and is currently seeking volunteers to join the cause.  In this unique program, individuals mentor military children at several after-school programs around the county. Due to the time schedule involved, this could particularly be a great opportunity for many older adults.
